I would rather spend time programming/making a game, than hand making high quality assets. I would personally prefer to work with Unity because it is 100% code, fast and easy to work with, and can run on anything with great performance. Rider does a great job of outlining what is needed where, which makes it so easy. Converting fully functioning systems from BP to C++ is very quick and relatively easy. Unreal is also a bit finicky, so errors/crashes can get annoying.īut blueprints are so easy. C# is probably a fair bit faster to write, and live coding in Unity is much better than Unreal. Once you get into the API and the tools available, it loses a lot of the C++ “difficulty”.
