This is attractive for a couple of reasons: 1) It’s just a little over 10 minutes to YVR via Canada Line and it’s approximately 20 minutes to downtown Vancouver 2) The Canada Line – as part of TransLink – is cheaper than a taxi. Second, the River Rock is connected to the Canada Line skytrain system. Translated to a taxi ride, that’s less than 10 minutes.
First, it’s barely 5 kilometers from Vancouver International Airport. In terms of location, the River Rock is ideally situated. But more on my most recent stay in a moment. In brief, there’s no shortage of things to do. I mean, the River Rock is all encompassing when it comes to attractions and events: There’s a pool (with waterslide), fitness centre, 24-hour casino, the River Rock Theatre and a number of eateries on site, sure to satiate any taste and appetite. Perhaps it was, as one of their ads say, “fun stays here”? Yes, that could’ve been the appeal. Set on the banks of the mighty Fraser River, there was just something about this resort and casino that caught my eye. Ever since it opened (2004), the River Rock has been on my local bucket list of places to stay. On the first, which happened a few years ago, I was pretty excited. I’ve had the pleasure of staying at the River Rock on two separate occasions.
